OUR PERFORMANCES

Widyarini was initially founded on January 1st, 1976 by the late Mrs. Tati Sawardiman to accommodate the children in her surrounding community, some teachings on traditional dances, in particular Javanese traditional dances. Started with 3 students, Widyarini grew and recognized as one of the finest dance groups in Jakarta.

In 2016, under affiliation with Ratna Ballet School, we opened a separate door to a different genre: classical ballet. This new course has grown quickly over the last 2 years into an independent school, and now we are proud to say we offer international standardized exam annually, with various workshops and performances throughout the year. Our students who have passed international exam also received academic credits that can contribute to their

formal education.

The year 2017 marks our first jazz ballet class. This genre of dance lately grows in popularity; following a growing demand of versatile, all-around dancers in the industry. As a younger sister of western dance, jazz ballet still derived its basic technique from the classical, but developed and infused with so much flair that it becomes  more sashy, energetic and dynamic. We offer annual exam for jazz as well, with internationally recognized syllabus and certification. Our jazz ballet certification offers academic credits applicable in many universities in North America.
